Japanese & Anime Tattoo in Málaga
Two distinct languages, one studio: the composition of Japanese tattooing and the illustration of anime.
About japanese / anime
At Black Rituals we work both Japanese and anime tattooing. They are styles with their own roots and visual language, so we treat them separately: every project starts from its own logic.
Japanese tattoo
Japanese tattooing is built as a complete composition: background, main motif and supporting elements speak within a single piece. Dragons, flowers, masks and landscapes are adapted to the anatomy so the image flows with the body.
Jesús works Japanese from hand drawing: every sketch begins as a custom design on paper before it reaches the skin. Colour, when the piece calls for it, is chosen to support the reading of the whole.
Large-scale pieces — sleeves, backs, legs — are planned as a whole from the first conversation, even when executed over several sessions.
Anime tattoo
An anime tattoo can focus on a character, a gesture or a scene. We select the elements that make a reference recognisable without overcrowding the available size.
Sonia knows the anime universe in depth and interprets every character with fidelity and a refined aesthetic, working mainly in black and grey with touches of colour when a piece calls for it.
Tell us the series, the image and the approach you want. We assess linework, contrast and colour around placement to develop an original composition.

FAQ
Japanese / Anime questions
Can I plan a full Japanese sleeve or back piece?
+
Yes. It is the most natural way to work Japanese: we plan the whole composition from the start and execute it over sessions.
Does Japanese work have to be in colour?
+
No. Colour is an option; we also build Japanese compositions in black and grey when the piece calls for it.
Can I bring classic irezumi references?
+
Yes. References help us understand the direction you want; the final design is hand-drawn for you, not copied.
Can I request a specific character?
+
Yes. Tell us the series and character; we develop an original composition from your reference, adapted to the placement and size.
Do you work anime in colour?
+
We work mainly in black and grey, adding touches of colour when a piece calls for it.
What size does an anime tattoo need?
+
It depends on the level of detail in the scene or character. We advise on the minimum scale so the piece reads well over time.
How is the design adapted to my body?
+
We review the area’s shape, available size and design orientation before finalising the composition.
Can I enquire without a finished drawing?
+
Yes. A concept and references are enough to start a conversation; the design develops after reviewing your proposal.
How is the quote calculated?
+
We assess size, detail and working time, and provide a quote after reviewing the project.
